FAQ: answers with receipts
Every answer carries an anchor for deep-linking and an evidence state. The conclusion stays visible — collapsing only folds the reasoning, never the verdict.
The five everyone asks
No — single-player only (CONFIRMED on Steam, PlayStation and Xbox store pages).
The developers have said multiplayer would mean rebuilding the game from the ground up. Treat that explanation as historical until they repeat it; the single-player listing itself is current. Full reasoning on the Multiplayer page.
No traditional combat. The loop is observation, preparation and avoidance — not a weapon tree.
Dangerous fauna exists. Official positioning is research, not farming kills. If you expect ARK or Rust gunplay, this is a different game. Context on the home page.
PC (Steam + Epic), PlayStation 5 and Xbox launched 8 September 2026. Switch-family is not announced.
“Not announced” is not a denial. Steam Deck has no official rating yet. Table and house rule on the Platforms page.
Now. The Steam demo went live on 31 August 2026 (app 2959440).
The demo is still free after the full launch. A later official post: each session ends after 2 hours of play or a main-quest milestone, whichever comes first; a new save resets the timer. The 31 August copy said about one hour: landing, first resources, basic base-building, bioengineering tools. 2024 Next Fest notes stay historical. Download steps: Demo page.
Allogamy and grafting are the named lab methods. This site has not verified exact recipes or success rates for the released build.
Experiments are allowed to fail. This site does not publish pairing tables. Loop and data gaps: Crossbreeding page.
Everything else
You can observe, feed and build relationships with animals. A dedicated petting mini-game is not confirmed.
That wording is from the game’s own non-combat pitch. Steam still has an “Animal Petting” thread. Gamescom 2025 showed a wildlife camera then a befriend recipe (not tame) — that is a later showcase, not the 2024 demo. Exact systems stay a data gap until we play the 2026 demo. See No traditional combat on the home page.
Steam US lists $29.99, currently $25.49 (15% off) as of this check. The live store figure can change.
Copied from Steam price_overview on 2026-09-09. We will not write a sale-end date that the store API does not show. Check the Steam store page for the live figure.
Steam lists 13 languages. English and Polish have full audio; the rest are interface and subtitles.
Also listed: French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Korean, Portuguese-Brazil, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Ukrainian, Japanese, Russian. Source: Steam app 1510440 on 2026-09-09.
DATA GAP Not announced.
The 2024 limited demo did not carry over. The 2026 post does not say either way. Tracked on the Demo page.
That is community shorthand, not Frozen Way’s positioning.
Players also say “Grassautica” and “Satisfactory for a biologist.” Useful for expectations; not a feature list. See “HOW PLAYERS DESCRIBE IT” on the home page.
Four official modes: Scientist (recommended), Survivalist, Space Hell (permanent death), and Engineer (custom). Engineer is not the default.
Named in the 8 September 2026 *OUT NOW!* post. Survivalist drains immunity faster. Space Hell is Survivalist plus permanent death. Engineer lets you change building costs, stamina/immunity drain, animal aggression, river force and material multipliers — that is the custom mode, not the recommended one. Source: OUT NOW!
